The Engagement!!!

Sooooo .... on the morning of April 28th, 2007 at 7:15 am I was proposed to!!! YAY!! I promised a few friends that instead of texting them how it happened I would post a blog about it ... so first, you'll need a little background to understand why it was so special to me ... ... ... Kevin has NEVER done the dishes or really cleaned at all (I'll make him mop and sweep every so often), he refuses to do the dishes, he would rather do anything else than the dishes ... so, Friday night, the kitchen and living room were a mess, it was the end of the week (I usually clean on weekends) and the kitchen was an absolute disaster from cooking the last 3 nights. Also, Kevin's birthday was that day (the 28th), so I promised to make him breakfast and told him to wake me up when he wanted me to make them.

So, I'm dead asleep on a Saturday and he wakes me up at 7 am!!! Most of you know, I am NOT a morning person and I don't think you truly understand that unless you've been around me in the morning!!! So, I go to give him a "good morning and happy birthday" kiss and he says "No", i want a water first ... so, not only did he wake me up at the butt crack of dawn, but he won't even give me a kiss!!! So, I stomp around the room mad at him and walk out the door to see the kitchen and the living room SPOTLESS!!! This boy did an amazing cleaning job ... so my next feeling was guilt cuz he cleaned it on his birthday! I went back in the room and asked him why and I felt bad cuz i was going to do it today ... so anyways, he just says he wants water ... so i then fully step into the kitchen and in the pan I was going to make him breakfast is the open ring box with 6 roses laying all around it and a tri-fold card behind it saying "Ashley, will you marry me?"!!! Now, being about 7:15 in the morning I seriously thought I was dreaming ... then all of sudden I screamed grabbed the ring went back to him and said "give me a kiss and put this on me!" hahaha ... THE best day of my life ... until the wedding!!! You can check out pictures under my photo album!

So, anyways ... we haven't set an exact date yet, but we will be getting married in Oregon and it will be late June of 2008 :) :)

Back in Action ...

So, with work being slow the past couple weeks I decided I needed to get back into blogging to pass the time as well as use it as an outlet for me to write what I feel as it is a great stress reliever for me.

Right now, I'm still working regular office hours, but my job hasn't taken place yet as I focus on all season ticket holder renewals, which haven't gone out yet and won't be going out til 2nd week in May :(

Some good news, I'm getting anxious to start looking for houses ... Kevin and I are going to buy a house before the year is up, so we'll probably start looking mid-September and hopefully be all moved in by December :) :) Can't wait! Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed as we wait to find out if we're pre-approved for a mortgage ... which we will find out in a couple weeks!

Other than that, nothing is really going on right now ... work is slow, weather is starting to get hotter ... oh ... Kenny Chesney Concert on Cinco de Mayo, I'm SOOO excited. My brother is going to Kenny with me so that will be a blast and nice to spend some quality drunk time with him ... haha!

So, I have no lived in Arizona for almost 8 months now, wow time has flown by! I think this was the best move of my life and something I absolutely do NOT regret! It was definitely a struggle to get through the summer heat down here, but I worked long hours and was always indoors where there is air conditioning, so it wasn't really a problem.

2007 has started off as a whirlwind for me, but I'm loving every minute of it. I got a well-deserved promotion at work and start seeing much more income, which is nice! and then the biggest bonus of all is that Kevin and I moved in together, which has been wonderful! We just bought a ring and now he has it in hiding until the day he proposes, which I think will be sometime in April :) I already have so many ideas for the wedding, but I don't want to officially start planning it until I actually get the ring, haha ...

The hardest part about moving and living in Arizona is that I miss all my friends! I miss being able to just call them up and go over to their house :( Friends are such a big part of my life and I have the greatest friends back home in Oregon. I have a bunch of "friends" down here that I work with or that are the wives of Kevin's football teammates, and they are all nice, I just don't feel like they are mind friends like I have back home. It's sometimes hard to be down here with only a boyfriend, 1 person to go to -- don't get me wrong, I love him to death and always go to him with my problems, but it is sometimes nice just to have girl time.

So anyways, I figured writing is a good outlet for me, as well as going on long walks, so I figured I would give in and start a blog :) I will keep it updated from time to time and try to stay on top of it. Have a great week ...
